Teaching students at London College of Music
I'm an experienced workshop leader and facilitator.

I have taught drama workshops and given talks at London College of Music, Players' Playwrights, Bodens Performing Arts, University of West London, Queen Mary University of London, and Hereford College of Arts.

Teaching experience at GCSE level and Year Six includes Bedales School and Rushmore Primary School. Most recently, I wrote the screenplay Pik-Pok-Alypse Now! which allowed the end of year performance at Rushmore Primary School to proceed in a socially distanced way (filmed in school bubbles).

My first year in London was spent as Language Assistant to the Head of German at St Paul's School for Boys. I have been a private language tutor for all ages for many years and founded the bi-lingual German-British parent-child group at Linden Children's Centre, Rectory Road, for children aged 0-6.

I am currently teaching 8-10 year-old pupils at the German Saturday School, Hackney Wick.
I have an enhanced DBS check available on request.

Do contact me on tamarawerthern@yahoo.com if you would like to arrange for me to lead a workshop or give a talk at your school or college. I also offer workshops to assist school and college productions of my play The White Bike, covering performance techniques as well as providing a deeper understanding of the script and the opportunity to ask questions.
My areas of expertise include creative writing, publishing, writing for the stage, producing and dramaturgy.
We have been fortunate enough to work alongside Tamara at London College of Music for a number of years. Her expertise as a playwright, publisher and dramaturg brings a richness of experience to the room. Students have found this level of exposure to industry best practice, intersecting both creative and professional skillsets, to have formed an invaluable part of their studies.

A. Loveless
Course Leader BA Acting and Theatre-Making, London College of Music
We have worked with Tamara in a few different ways at Rushmore and every experience has been fantastic and one which the children have really enjoyed. Not only is she very talented in what she does, she also knows how to get the best out of a group of young children which isn't always easy. We look forward to working with her again in the future.

C. Sutcliffe
English Lead, Rushmore Primary School
Tamara gave my students brilliant practical advice on how to start out as a professional writer and theatre maker. She has a wealth of experience in the performing arts industry and provided a valuable insight into how you can earn a living and be an artist in the world of contemporary theatre practice.
